A great documentary movie - beautiful photography, beautiful story, very well presented. I loved it.

The only thing I disliked about the film was that it was too short at one-and-a-half hours. The story of Pale Male is a fascinating and long one, and I'm sure there is much more material that could have been used for the film; but was not, probably due to the time restrictions within which the presentation had to work, story flow, etc. This film about the red-tailed hawk Pale Male and his offspring gives us a valuable message of unbreakable hope in the face of relentless adversity; a message much needed in hard times. Animal fanciers of all ages will enjoy this film. Not only do we see the story of the red-tailed hawks here, but also how their presence influences many people, those who gather for them, for the positive. In essence, Pale Male and his family/offspring seemed to fuel within those that observed them a desire to reconnect with and preserve nature. Truly a beautiful piece from all angles: the animals, the people, the settings around New York city and Central Park.

Fantastic lovely fim. Kudos to Frederic. I was enchanted and at 9 a.m. the very next morning after seeing the film at the Angelika, my 9 year old son dragged me to Central Park with binoculars to look for Pale Male! Absolute must see for all ages.
